PROMO TEXT and Technical Information

VIVA AERIAL DANCE

Michele Laine and Jane Osborn combine aerial acrobatics, dance and a lot of style to bring you VIVA - an exquisite and original double aerial silks act. Taking dance up into the air, with swinging splits and synchronised somersaults. Suspended by only two lengths of silk, this act is dazzling, dramatic and daring.

Stunning costumes, powerful performance and an original soundtrack complete the experience.
Viva have performed all round the world including Hong Kong, Bahrain, Lapland, India and tour regularly around Europe and the UK, and are featured daily on the BBC1 UK television acrobats ident, on red silks in the Royal Horticultural halls.

Viva also perform as the Stilt Sisters - glamourbabes on long legs, with several matching costumes, including Snow Sisters, Moulin Rouge Madams and Spacebabes.

TECHNICAL:

Description: Aerial Ballet on lengths of silk performed by two female artists.
Synchronized aerial acrobatics.

Playing time: approx 6 mins

Set up time: Performers require 1-2 hours rigging time, depending on venue,
and additionally 1.5 hours for preparation and warm-up.

Staging Requirements: 2 structural points – each point safe working load 500kg.
Absolute min 250kg per girl. Megatruss is ok if it is guyed down securely. And there are no lights directly on the equipment less than 1m close.
Min 3m apart.
Min height 5m, with a 2m clear radius around each silk (the silks will be just touching the floor).

Rigging: Access to the points is required. If simple access, then we can clip on our own silks (using slings and karabinas – own equipment).
If the points are higher than 9m, please call to discuss (if necessary we can extend with slings, but if very high or very difficult then we may need a rigger*).
Before and after the act the silks will be tied to a paging line and pulled up to a suitable high position usually through a pulley and tied off. This route needs to be free from obstructions and not in close contact with bright lights.

Note on pyrotechnics! – please position any stage pyros away from the silks in performance and also in paged away position and at a very safe distance – even the slightest spark can create a hole and render our equipment unusable.

Sound requirements: Suitable sound system/PA. Music provided on CD.

Lighting requirements: Ideally - Pinks and Blues to cover the whole length of silks, and white follow spots. (also depends on colour schemes).

Silks colours: Choice of White, Blue or Red
Costumes: Choices include: Body Suits: White, Silver, Green, Blue sparkly or Pink sparkly
Blue/Silver modern bikini, Red Moulin Rouge, Yellow short leg.

*We can provide our own rigger if necessary for all rig/de-rig and in-show paging.
